The mediaeval town of Kruševac is now a part of a modern city in central Serbia, but it was built in 14th century. The Small Town is in its north-east section, with the main tower 18m high, a moat and a smaller tower. The interior of the Big Town contains over 30 structures. Besides the church and the remains of numerous towers in the fortress ramparts, a palace in the south-west section and the horse stables have been investigated.
Archaeological excavations and conservation works were carried out between 1961 – 1971.
